Voice Wreck-ognition

Is this an indication of the "updated" user experience we can expect from Windows Vista? I'm totally underwhelmed. Sheesh.

Icky,

I used Dragon Naturally Speaking around 5yrs ago to write a paper for Sun. It was way much better than that. :)

I saw a live public demo of IBM Via Voice over 12 years ago, and even back then it was better than that, too, but the speaker had to speak a bit more slowly than normal. David Pogue in his TEDTalk shows the latest version of Naturally Speaking (now published by Nuance). In the last two versions, they've added no new features but have greatly improved its recognition accuracy and voice macro capability, so that now when he replies "Piss off" to reader email it types out a much more polite response. :-)
